GROWMIE DELETE POLICY

Effective Date: January, 2025.

At Growmie, we respect your right to control your personal information. This Delete Policy explains how users can request the deletion of their data or account from the Growmie platform, what information is deleted, what is retained (if necessary), and how long the process takes. This policy is compliant with global data protection regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR).

1. Requesting Data or Account Deletion

You have the right to request:

  • Deletion of your entire Growmie account, including all associated data, or
  • Deletion of specific personal information held by Growmie (e.g., email address, payment data).

To request deletion, send an email to: privacy@growmieapp.com Include the subject line: “Delete My Account” or “Delete My Data”.

For verification, we may request confirmation through your registered email or phone number. This helps us ensure that only the account owner can make such a request.

2. What Happens After You Request Deletion

Upon receiving a verified deletion request, Growmie will:

  • Permanently delete your personal data from our databases and backups within 30 days.
  • Revoke your access to all services, content, and subscriptions tied to the account.
  • Unlink affiliate and instructor profiles, including associated analytics and payout history.
  • Remove your data from third-party services we control (e.g., email systems, internal CRM).

3. Exceptions: What We May Retain (Legally or Operationally)

While we aim to fulfill your right to be forgotten, some data may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes, such as:

  • Transaction records for accounting, legal, or tax compliance (up to 7 years).
  • Security logs or fraud prevention data to protect the integrity of our platform.
  • Data involved in an ongoing legal dispute, investigation, or regulatory matter.
  • In such cases, your data will be restricted, encrypted, and not used for any other purpose.

4. Deletion Timeline

  • All verified deletion requests will be processed within 30 calendar days.
  • In cases involving complex data sets or legal holds, processing may take up to 90 days—you will be notified if this applies.

5. What You Should Know Before Deleting Your Account

  • Account deletion is permanent and irreversible.
  • You will lose access to all past classes, courses, wallet balances, affiliate earnings, and instructor history.
  • If you are an instructor, all your published classes and student data will be deleted.
  • If you are a student, your learning history and certificates (if any) will be erased.
  • We strongly recommend exporting or backing up any important information before submitting your deletion request.

6. Children’s Data

Growmie does not knowingly collect data from users under the age of 13 (or 16, depending on jurisdiction). If we become aware of such data, we will delete it immediately upon discovery or notification.
